About Ray's Place

There is never enough time to craft - especially with so many things to tempt you! I grew up with Mum always making things for us: knitted toys, dolls and teddy clothes, curtains, extraordinary birthday cakes, inventive storage solutions. Over the years she has passed on the enthusiasm, knowledge, and skill for making things. You can't beat the joy of a material stash, a button box (I love buttons!), or a collection of jars and bottles to be turned into vases.

Felt, beads, fabric,  ribbons, buttons - so many wonderful materials, so little time!

Sewing, knitting, patchwork, decopatch - so many wonderful techniques, so little time!

Toys, cushions, bags, quilts - so many wonderful projects, so little time!

Whether it's making things to keep, or as presents, there is always a project on the go.

Dad: Ray

In January 2012 Dad (Ray) passed away. A little while later my brother (who is a very talented air brush artist) made a plaque for our house. On it he put 'Ray's Place' as a way of showing that whether Dad is physically there or not it will always be his place.

When Mum and I started thinking about sharing our craft projects there was only one natural name to use: Ray's Place Designs - all the things we make that come out of Ray's Place. And so here we are.
